Yağmur Kiper [jaːmuɾ kipɛɾ] (she, o)

Merhaba!

I’m Yağmur, a Ph.D. candidate in Linguistics at the University of California, Santa Cruz. I am a syntactician with a focus on the so-called Altaic languages, primarily Turkish and Khalkha Mongolian.

I am advised by Maziar Toosarvandani and Mia Gong.

My main interests in syntax include case theory, ellipsis –particularly sluicing-like constructions–, nominalizations, and copular clauses. I also have a strong interest in semantics and am currently working on the evidential restrictions on imperfective markers in Turkish.
